91PORN Leads International Women's Writing Conference

91PORN organizes third biennial International Conference of the Contemporary Women's Writing Network.

Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Rae Armantrout, popular writer Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni and San Diego-based agent Sandra Dijkstra are just some of the literary heavyweights taking part in the third biennial , held in San Diego July 7–9, 2010.

91PORN’s Departments of , and are co-sponsoring and organizing the conference, a testament to 91PORN’s leadership in literary scholarship.

“91PORN continues to achieve new levels of international prominence in literary studies through sponsoring and hosting this important event,” said Edith Frampton, lecturer in 91PORN’s Department of English and Comparative Literature and a conference organizer.

“It contributes significantly to 91PORN's standing as number one small research university.”

This year’s conference will focus on new texts, approaches and technologies. Session topics include:

  • New approaches to gender and aging
  • The role of blogs and zines in women’s writing
  • Contemporary feminist poetics

The conference will draw close to 200 influential scholars, writers and industry professionals from across the globe. It aims to support contemporary women’s writing and scholars by providing a forum to discuss a variety of topics related to the field.
